About the Deanship

 

The Deanship of Student Affairs was established by a decision of His Excellency the President of University of Jeddah in 1436 AH. It is one of the supporting deanships affiliated with the Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs and Development. The Deanship contributes to achieving the mission and goals of the university by providing an attractive environment that contributes to deepening students’ connection to their faith, their national affiliation, strengthening values, achieving psychological and social balance, and developing students’ skills and abilities that distinguish them with efficiency and effectiveness in the labor market.

 

Agency Tasks
  • Organizing the mechanisms for disbursing monthly rewards to diploma, bachelor’s and postgraduate students, bonuses for people with disabilities, excellence bonuses, and allowances due by the law, and resolving the problems facing students in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
  • Providing group and individual guidance and counselling services to help students achieve psychological, social and academic balance, promote appropriate and positive values and behavior, and improve the quality of university life.
  • Direct communication with students with disabilities, identifying the condition of each student, providing guidance and counselling services, recreational, skill and social activities, support services, overcoming difficulties, making suggestions, and providing devices and tools that enable students to achieve their ambitions to become empowered individuals in society and the nation.
  • Informing students about their university rights and how to obtain them through official channels within the university, developing their abilities to deal with problems or disputes, and establishing the concept of demanding justice and fairness to achieve mutual respect, which is the basis of social communication among university members.
  • Providing all scientific, cultural, artistic, social and sports activities in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the university’s goals, vision and mission.
  • Preparing students professionally, socially and psychologically by offering programs and forums that aim to form the students' integrated and balanced personality and aim to increase awareness and prevent all social, security and cultural threats.
  • Discovering and developing students’ talents and abilities by activating scientific, cultural, skill, sports, social, and artistic clubs.
  • Building a competitive motivational environment by holding competitions within the university and participating in local and international competitions and championships.
  • Establishing effective partnerships that contribute to developing a sense of belonging and loyalty to the university.
  • Providing all service needs for students, including stationery, safety deposit boxes, and receiving and delivering lost and found items within the university.
  • Enhancing student behavior and discipline in all interactions by controlling behavioral status, reducing the rate of violations, activating the disciplinary committee, and imposing penalties in accordance with the university’s systems and regulations, thus providing an ideal learning environment.
  • Supporting student activities in colleges and the university and providing personal support to students by providing lump sum financial aid and hourly work allowance to students within the university according to the approved mechanisms and conditions.
  • Supervising the follow-up of providing meals to students at service sites and self-service vending machines at the university from the beginning of concluding contracts with operators and following up on the performance of the service to the student in the most complete manner.
  • Supporting future leaders, graduates of Jeddah University, with services, programs, and training courses in the field of specialization, and supporting entry into the labor market.
